The History of Invicta Watches

The Invicta Brand offers a rich heritage of Swiss watchmaking. The brand was founded in 1837 by Raphael Picard in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland . The company's name comes from the Latin term "invincible"... and their bold, innovative designs, matched to their impeccable quality, outstanding good looks and affordability have made them invincible leaders in the watch industry today.

The Picard family owned the brand through the 1970's. In the 1990's Invicta was sold to US based company with headquarters in Hollywood, FL, who turned the Invicta into industry front-runner it is today with the introduction of the Lupah and Pro Diver collections in the early 2000's.

The two collections set the stage for more generously oversized watch styles with cases that measured 47mm wide and 19mm thick to 55mm in diameter and 15mm thick. Today,  Invicta's collections for men and women have grown to encompass more than 30 different series, ranging from popular sport and diving styles to trend-setting and urbane fashion models.

Invicta's Pro Diver, Venom, Subaqua, Wildflower, Russian Diver, Bolt and Jason Taylor watches are ranked among the most popular timepieces for both men and women throughout the globe. Many Invicta timepieces feature premium Swiss-made craftsmanship, along with such outstanding features as water-resistance to 200 meters or more and flame-fusion crystals.
